Good Days and Tolstoy

Another busy week, writing poetry and editing a short Christmas story for Amazon Kindle.

I started the week wearing t-shirts and this end of the week, I’m layering up which can only mean one of two things…

* Writing about Christmas and snow has made me feel cold so my mind has moved to Siberia (eek!)

* Autumn has arrived! Bye to summer. (sob!)

I think my Christmassy writing is done for the moment so perhaps I should write about sunshine, sipping Pina coladas and tropical heat…then my brain can move to the Caribbean!!

Next, I’ll be working on a quiz book, then a children’s story and then, and then, and then…Lovely! I can’t do “not busy” it drives me mad or, more accurately, gives my OCD/PTSD time to encroach on my brain space.

I have had the honour of a few compliments about my writing in the last couple of days from people who weren’t biased (yay) and I have to say that it was very nice to be appreciated and to feel that my writing is growing and moving in the right direction.

It reminded me that people often concentrate on the negative rather than the positive…maybe we should make it a habit to say something nice to someone, pay somebody a compliment each day and to ourselves!!!

My therapist has been retraining my brain for months to think positively and it really does make you feel better about things.

Who knows, you might change someone’s day from decidedly average to fantastic which is never a bad thing!

And yes, particularly in the UK that may well be greeted with surprise and an “is she mad??!!” look but hey, at least it’s a good deed!

And I’ve also set myself the challenge of reading War and Peace – Thank goodness it’s the Kindle version my arms would break holding a paper/hardback version!

Have fun and keep smiling peeps.

Guess what I’ve been doing?!

If you took part in my poll – Thank you X;-) – and you probably won’t be surprised to learn that I’ve been working on a book called Mulled Wine Is Not Just For Christmas!

It was going to be an article but the more I researched, the more I learned, the more I wrote and well, this is the result…,BottomRight,-51,22_AA300_SH20_OU01_.jpg

Don’t you just LOVE a writer’s life! You can learn more about something, become engaged in it and write it all down for posterity. The hard work is worth it!

(It’ll be out on Amazon Kindle 5th October, available for pre-order now if you want to, no pressure!)

Amongst the wine thoughts a haiku came to me, hope that you enjoy it…

White haired, she dances

Airborne, sees beauty of life

Dandelion’s end.

Have a fab rest of the day!

Please can you help me…I’m data mining!

Please don’t groan but it would be brilliant if you could take a look at these two polls and answer them for me.

You’ll be helping with my article research and can have a warm fuzzy feeling knowing that you’ve done your good deed for the day!

And if you have any comments, feel free to post them.

Thanks for your help!

Still busy and I love it!

I have been working hard and enjoying all the royal news.

The Invictus Games look great, well done to the competitors. I admire their spirit and determination.

The children’s story I was working on is now published…yay!

I have been putting together some short books and planning longer writing projects.

It’s wonderful, and a recent novelty, that sometimes I forget that my brain can be a bit of a nuisance, when it’s being fully co-operative and productive…Double yay!

There is nothing like being absorbed in work that you love to do to make you feel alive.

If anyone told me that I’d have completed so much work this year I’d have probably laughed and said impossible but I guess that sometimes the impossible is possible.

Hope you’re having a great day, if it’s not so great, keep marching towards the sunrise…it will be worth it.

Busy Bunny

Hope you’re enjoying your day.

I’ve had a great few weeks of writing and some fab progress with the O.C.D/P.T.S.D. treament.

I now have a series of quiz books on Amazon and one of my children’s stories is waiting to go live.

My poetry is getting very kind feedback.

And we’ll just ignore the pesky rejection e-mails from magazine editors who aren’t feeling the love for my work this last week or so!

And the O.C.D/P.T.S.D progress? You know the multi soaping/multi hand washing thing that OCD’ers do to feel safe?

I have (thank God) managed to reduce that by over half in the last three weeks…that frees me up to do important things like writing! My time is my own not my wonky brain cell’s. YAY!!!!

Keep smiling, stay happy and remember you only get this day once!
